Doug Tate, ADPA®, CLU®, CRPC®

Doug Tate was born and raised in Texas.  He attended Jesuit College Preparatory in Dallas and then attended Louisiana State University where he earned a BA in Mass Communications and a MBA with a concentration in international finance and marketing.  He started his professional career in 1998 with Pfizer Pharmaceuticals in San Antonio, Texas. He launched the ever-popular drug, Viagra, and was the International Sales Winner for Top Viagra Sales in the world.  In addition, he has also worked for numerous other Fortune 500 companies such as Teva, Boston Scientific, and St. Jude Medical. 

After an award-winning career in medical sales, Doug followed his passion and began his career in finance with Merrill Lynch in 2011.  His passion and financial knowledge served him well as he graduated from the rigorous 3-year training program.  

Doug takes his financial education very serious.  In addition to holding the Series 7 and 66, Doug has earned the following designations: Chartered Retirement Plan Counselor (CRPC®), Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU®), and Accredited Domestic Partnership Advisor (ADPA®).

He is a graduate of NORLI (a community-focused leadership program in New Orleans, LA) and Leadership St. Tammany. Doug is the past president of the Beau Chene Homeowners Association, and chaired numerous committees from 2012-2021.  Doug was also recently awarded “The Key to Beau Chene” for his tireless support of the community.  He also chaired the Dad’s Club at both Cedarwood School and Christ Episcopal School.  He is the outgoing softball committee chairman at Pelican Park and has been an active youth sports coach since 2009. 

Doug currently sits on the St. Paul’s Renaissance Board. He is also the official archivist for The Mystic Krewe of Olympia and Delta Tau Delta Fraternity (EK Chapter LSU).  Doug was also elected to RPEC in July 2020.  He represents District 4 which includes parts of Mandeville and Madisonville, and major neighborhoods along Highway 22.  Doug is currently the Recording Secretary for St. Tammany RPEC.  He was also appointed by The Director of The Selective Service System to be a Louisiana Board Member.  Doug is an avid outdoorsman and is a lifetime member of the NRA and SCI.

Doug is married to the former Alexandra Sampedro and they have two beautiful kids.  Preston who attends SPS and Lucy who attends SSA.
